My name is Kokoette Effiong, a Male, Nigerian, born on September 21, 1982.
My study life
Finished my BSc. in Marine Biology from the University of Calabar in 2009, Masters's degree from the University of Lagos in 2014.
My achievements
Outstanding International Student of the year 2019/2020 at ZJU. Best behaved and second-best graduating student Unilag, 2014. Class governor for both BSc and MSc all through. Best graduating student, uncial, 2009. Won national JET club competition in 2008. Won a private scholarship in my high school after emerging the best student of the year.
My campus life
My campus life has been awesome, I dedicate my time to studying hard, learning new things, I also embrace new ideas. I enjoy everything and maintain a cordial relationship with my fellow students.
My impression to college/ZJU
I have a good relationship with my supervisor, the international students’ management team of ocean college has done an astonishing job by making us feel at home, even as we live far away from our loved ones. ZJU has been an amazing host to us all.
The most impressive thing
The most impressive thing to me is my research group mates, irrespective of the fact that most of us have different backgrounds, we work in synergy, the Chinese students in my lab are the most splendid set of people I’ve ever worked with, we learn, work and succeed together.
My hobbies
I actively participate in sporting activities, I play football, table tennis, hockey, basketball, I also visit the gym when time permits
My plan after graduation
I plan to go back to my host university to continue with my lecturing work, where I will bring to bear my wealth of experience, although, if I am given an opportunity for a post-doctoral position I would further ask for permission from my University to complete it.
Any words or good ideas to other students
My advice to other students is to be dedicated to their research, work hard and take advantage of their strong points to develop themselves and help other people.
My feeling in school
My feelings in school are those of a very high spirit, positive, and that of hope and enthusiasm for success. I vehemently count myself one of the luckiest to have found myself to be part of this great academic adventure.
