My study life

I have completed my doctoral degree from the Institute of Marine Electronics Engineering Ocean college, Zhejiang University in Hangzhou China. My Master’s degree is in Electronics and Electrical systems from, The University of Lahore, Islamabad Pakistan. My BS is in Electronics from University of Peshawar, Peshawar Pakistan. My current research interests are in the areas of Photonics, Nonlinear Optics, Graphene plasmonics, Hyperbolic metamaterials, and Optoelectronic devices. My research work has been published in well reputed SCI journals such as, Optics Express, Optics Communications and Nanoscale.

My achievements

My research work has been published in well reputed SCI journals such as, Optics Express, Optics Communications and Nanoscale. In 2015 I got Marine scholarship of China (CSC). In 2018 I got the title of Excellent International student of Ocean college, Zhejiang university. Currently working as an Assistant Professor in school of Information and Electronics at Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an China.

My campus life

During my PhD, I have study and research for four years in Zhejiang university. In my first year I was in Zi Jin Gang Campus and start my course work there including Chinese language course. Later, most of the time I stay in the Yu Qu Campus and completed my research work there. For some Lab work and meeting I use to visit Zhoushan campus which is amazing and beautiful campus of ZJU. The most important is highly cooperative staff of the international office in Zhoushan campus. I must finish my homework or essays on weekends during the course work, and only after that can I hang out with my friends or doing sports activities. During my research, most of the time I use to stay in the office/Lab. What I want to emphasize is that sitting for long time a day, thinking about new ideas, typing or writing for many hours would never be an easy thing, so I always start my day with the learning initially and enhance my research capabilities later. I would like to say something about my “weekends life” in the campus. Most of the weekends I used to sleep well and hang out with friends. I have to finish my homework or essay on weekends, and only after that can I hang out with my friends or doing sports.  Most of the weekend in the evening I am busy in cooking and eat together with friends and play cards.

My impression to college/ZJU

My impression of the first day in the college/ZJU is still fresh in my memory. I found myself in the place where I had wished to be for a long time. There are several different impressions that I have on college. I believe that ZJU/ Ocean college is a stepping stone. The only way you're going to get better at a profession is if you put in the time and effort. Furthermore, you will get paid a lot more with a degree and broadens your knowledge and helps you answer any questions a person may have within your profession. You also have the right mind frame and be dependable. Although it took me few months to settle into ZJU life, I truly loved the experience. I loved being surrounded by a bunch of young men and women who were driven, ambitious, and intelligent. I also appreciated that they aspired to be leaders in their chosen field of study. One big reason why Ocean college was never dull was because it is part of an experiential university, that is the great Zhejiang University, Hangzhou China.

The most impressive thing

The hard work of Professors and Chinese students at ZJU impressed me the most. Especially, when I look at my supervisors Xu Zhiwei and Chen Hongsheng, and my lab mates how they work hard are great examples. Also love from other students the people of China.

My hobbie

In my hobbies the most important is watching news and in my free time swimming, running and sports (cricket and volleyball). It’s my whole-time hobbies and it makes my life wonderful.

My plan after graduation

I always wanted to be a teacher. So, my plan after graduation is to become a good researcher and a good teacher. I will continue my efforts and contribution to Engineering, Science and Technology. 

Any words or good ideas to other students

Work hard, be consistent, dream high, choose the targets and work for it. There will lots of hurdles and failures but never give up. Every step of failure will take you toward the success. As great said by Rumi: If light is in your heart, you will find your way home. Therefore, I would like say that, determination must be strong, aim should be at the sky. If you didn’t touch the sky at least you will get the stars.

My feeling in school

My feeling in the is always great and beautiful. The environment is cooperative helpful and peaceful. The greenery of the campus is so cool and the flowers are very attractive.
